  • Task: Clearly define what you want the AI to do (e.g., not just “help me write” but “write three LinkedIn posts for my Excel course”).

  • Context: Provide all background details (audience, goals, style, timing).

  • Resources: Supply examples of successful content, reference posts, etc.

  • Evaluate: Critically review the AI’s output for fit and completeness.

  • Iterate: Refine the prompt and results until you get what you need.

RSTI

If the TCREI framework gets you 80% of the way but not all the way to your ideal output, use RSTI:

  • Revisit: Check if you can clarify or add more details or examples.

  • Separate: Break complex prompts into smaller, explicit steps or bullet points.

  • Try different phrasing: Reframe the request for clarity or specificity.

  • Introduce constraints: Add specific rules or limits (“use only simple words,” “include 3 key tips,” etc.).
