Ideas to Adam
Section titled “Ideas to Adam”-
Continue to develop software development skills, especially in python, but last!.
-
Recommended Dev Stack
- to learn over time
- Git basics
- It is critical to have a reliable backup system, including git, and more. The additional benefit of using Obsidian for a knowledge base is that it is easy to add git version control, as all files are simple markdown text.
- AI Coding Tools
- Claude Code (and its variants)
- Cursor
- Python - learn last!!

I remember my early days of learning python, not knowing how to get configuration set up. Now I know that there is an abundance of choice on configuring Python environments. Probably the best is to use a VS code IDE, like cursor. Note that VS code, cursor, Anti-gravity, and others are built on the same VS code foundation. For data analysis, and machine learning, possibly the best environment for learning python is Jupiter notebooks, especially now in Google Collab integrated with VS code IDs. The Jupiter notebooks approach of combining interactive code with notes in markdown format is a very effective learning process as results are immediate.See this article.

While AI dev tools will continue to improve, Understanding the technologies and how to guide ideas through production level level apps without security vulnerabilities is essential. We are in Revolutionary times and those who are on the leading edge and connect opportunities with solutions will do very well.

AI Dev Workflow
Section titled “AI Dev Workflow”- I am continuing to evolve my AI dev workflow. I strongly suggest not trying to automate too early and get lots of manual experience using these tools effectively and efficiently first. Have had subscriptions to chat GPT, warp, have used anti-gravity. I am confident that focusing on claude code and cursor is the best focused combination at this point. Note that cursor with a subscription can you use any model, including gPT 5.2, for the toughest debugging challenges. Claude can be used in many different environments, but Claude code in a terminal might be the best for website or App development. Big learning curve, but it is almost certainly state-of-the-art at this time, and worth it for power users.
- LESSON: (today, again), for difficult debugging and important research or strategic planning, always use the best models
- This short video showcases three important aspects of more efficient development with AI tools.
- Claude skills. See more details below.
- Voice dictation. Three to five times faster than typing.
- Iterative or progressive development. Start small, get working. Upgrade slowly.
- as for developing your own AI agents
- Much later, I suggest starting at the simpler level than your current plan and use simpler frameworks like Crew AI, or n8n. Crucially recognize that that while you should learn the basics of how say N8N automations work, the more efficient way to create them is to ask a strong AI to build it for you, with simple detailed instructions in English. This might get you 80 to 100% of the way to the result you want.
- “Or better” approach
- Don’t Build Agents, Build Skills Instead
- See “The AI Agent Race is Over” Medium article, referenced below.

Dynalist
Section titled “Dynalist”- are you using this?
- free, outlining notetaking app, on any device, in markdown format Making transfers to and from obsidian easier
- VERY useful for
- idea capture (Inbox file)
- _WorkingOn processing
- some notes that are needed everywhere
- Checklists (like Travel)
- sharing structured notes with others, online
- like Travel details with group
-
Perplexity
Section titled “Perplexity”- use Comet browser, and alt S to summarize any content, including videos in seconds for free.
-
Also consider a subscription to Medium.com
- for $50 US per year as a very effective curator of ideas related to your interests, in our case, focussed on AI technologies, marketing, startup, businesses, and more. Then daily, review your curated list of articles emailed to you, click on the ones that are of interest, and alt S in Comet to review the brief summaries before deciding if worth reading in detail.
-
Add a playback speed up extension to YouTube, which is also useful for watching 10 minute NHL game summaries in seven minutes, especially if you skip ahead through the five different angles of goals that are routine.
-
Same speed up tactic for podcasts, you can easily listen to most audio at 20 to 40% speed up. I use podcast addict on my android phone.
-
As for app development, start with scratching your own itch, and developing a result that you are personally interested in and would benefit from. When I started learning programming on my own, I started developing simple games, which are actually more challenging than basic business apps. and the testing cycles were more fun as well!

Suggested software skill development roadmap.
- Focus on getting good at the best development tools. Currently, Claude Code (CC), and cursor.
- I also use Google‘s anti-gravity IDE, another VS code copy, as it gives access to the most powerful models, free, to daily limits. All of these tools can work on the same project.
- Python is foundational for AI and automation.
- If you are going to create apps for the world, you will still need some foundational knowledge in websites and web apps, meaning knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript. There are many frameworks that claim to help with this. After considering most of them, my choice is Astro for websites, and Sveltekit for apps. React is the more popular framework for both of these, but it is dated, more complicated, and not the best choice going forward (for me).
- Focus on getting good at the best development tools. Currently, Claude Code (CC), and cursor.

There are many ways to get AI to help manage obsidian notes. Any tool that can modify files on your system can do this, given permissions (CC and Cursor). I also have google AI studio directly integrated into my obsidian setup. I didn’t remember how I did it, so I simply asked AI studio, and how to share it. See the screenshot for the answer.

- I regularly have VS Code IDE open with my knowledge base files, because sometimes editing the raw text directly is the easiest way to fix some markdown syntax issues. This allows me to leave cursor open in my current development project.

Share my smart debt coach pledge. Ask if he will consider a small donation towards cancer research after he achieves his first significant net worth milestone, perhaps say five or 10% of the incremental value that he feels has come as a direct result of my mentoring him. There are many benefits to him for doing this.
