What this task was

Two-phase Processes/KB-OS task: (1) 2026-07-06 — plan the dept-based AI-agent evolution + quick wins; (2) 2026-07-09 — Fable 5 “world-class” implementation round.

Decisions + changes that stuck

2026-07-06 rounds:

• Task filed in Processes dept per SMTM v5.2 routing (confirmed correct pattern); stale KB-OS-Architecture citation fixed in Processes/JOB_DESCRIPTION.md
• CLAUDE.md upgrade ideas (path-scoped rules, skills-over-MCP, caveman compression, Karpathy rules) routed to ai-config-rules-upgrade UPGRADES/ROADMAP — not duplicated here
• Core/AI/Skills/Dashboard.md → DASHBOARD.md (5 inbound refs fixed)
• Director staff files drafted: Processes-Director, AI-Director, IT-Director (from JOB_DESCRIPTIONs, per Skill-Developer.md template)

2026-07-09 round 1 (main):

• MBR/09_Logs/ retired — writer was rate-scanner ops report; repointed to MBR/Logs/Ops/ (mbr repo 1c8ecbc); 85 ops logs unified
• Biggest Rocks: curated 5-rock cross-business roll-up on Core/DASHBOARD.md (executes vault-wide-biggest-rocks); MBR keeps Filter+Focus.md
• Agent layer v1: charter-chain autoload in /task-start//task-continue; Agent-Team.md roster; two latent task-continue bugs fixed (missing KB-native search glob; AI/Human → Claude/Talbot headings)
• Cleanup: 02_Strategy.md folder notes → Strategy.md (MBR + SDC, ambiguous links path-qualified); empty/stray folders removed (MBR/Clippings, MBR/Misc, root Clippings, root Glossary); KB_Structure snapshots regenerated (util config fixed, 5e02642)
• Docs refreshed: KB-OS STATUS/ROADMAP (new M3.5)/UPGRADES/KB-OS-Usage; spin-offs created: mbr-content-consolidation, idea-capture-workflow (both ready)

2026-07-09 rounds 2–3 (Q&A, all approved by Talbot):

• Active Depts tables (Core + MBR dashboards) consolidated into Agent-Team.md (Inbox columns added) — dashboards keep link + quick inboxes
• Core/Ideas-Workflow.md → Core/Processes/Capture-Routing.md; superseded files pointer-ified after content migration; full ref sweep
• /filter-focus-refresh dead criteria-doc reference fixed (ai-config e4666a5)
• Fresh-session gate (hard stop → /clear) added to /task-start + /project-start

Gotchas recorded

• Curated dashboard rows go stale when a source task closes — cross-check _active.md (→ KB-OS LESSONS, added)
• Never uv run a Windows-venv D:-drive project from WSL (→ folder_structure LESSONS, added)
• git add multi-pathspec aborts entirely on one bad pathspec; pointer-target rot in skills (→ lessons candidates in the session log, awaiting Talbot approval)
