Current State

Section titled “Current State”

Structure is stable and the agent layer is live at v1. The department-first unified vault (Core / MBR / SDC / FSS) passed a clean audit 2026-06-20. Since then: SMTM v5.2→v5.7 shipped (dept routing, ongoing-project construct, smart Templater wizard, and the Continuation Gate — no task or project closes without a resolved successor, 2026-08-31), the Ongoing-Projects portal + task-location conventions landed (2026-07-07), Director staff files exist for AI/Processes/IT (2026-07-06), and /task-start//task-continue now auto-load the dept charter chain (JOB_DESCRIPTION → Staff file → project STATUS) from the task’s path (2026-07-09).

Recently Done

  • OKF evaluation: don’t adopt ✓ (2026-09-23). A cold-agent A/B test on Core/Processes found OKF indexes and descriptions saved 2.6% of tokens and added 3 tool calls, below the ≥30% bar. stale_after was dropped. Folder Notes.md now documents Waypoint as not installed. Log: 2026-09-23_OKF-Evaluation

  • Hyperresearch stray cleanup + vault-root guard ✓ — 2026-09-23: KB root cleaned; vault moved to ~/hyperresearch/; hyperresearch-root-guard PreToolUse hook deployed; Software Dev/ kept in Processes → log 2026-09-23_Hyperresearch-Stray-Cleanup

  • Charter-chain autoload in /task-start + /task-continue; Agent-Team.md roster ✓ — 2026-07-09

  • MBR/09_Logs/ retired — rate-scanner ops report repointed to MBR/Logs/Ops/, 85 logs unified ✓ — 2026-07-09

  • Vault-wide Biggest Rocks table on Core/DASHBOARD.md ✓ — 2026-07-09

  • SMTM v5.7 — the Continuation Gate ✓ — 2026-08-31: no task or project closes without a resolved successor. /task-complete Step 4c (blocking, unconditional): successor verified on disk, stub created during the close, or terminal with a required reason → new continuation: frontmatter param. Same gate at /project-task-complete Step 8 (closure only); creep gate options 2+3 must record the deferred remainder concretely. Fixes two documented silent-drop incidents. Header/footer version drift (read 5.4, changelog was at 5.6) corrected in the same pass → task kb-os-smtm-continuation-path-reliability
