Stray File, Skill Rename, Artifacts README — Task Close

Section titled “Stray File, Skill Rename, Artifacts README — Task Close”

Three small IT cleanups closed in one task.

  • historical-analysis-artifact.md deleted. It was a genuinely completed task (had a Log, a LESSONS.md entry, an _active.md line) but read as “not a task” because it was titled “Untitled” and written as a summary with no ## Tasks/## Claude Response structure. Its Log (Core/IT/Logs/2026-09-24_Historical-Analysis-Artifact.md) already captured everything, so once retitled and its one stale rename-reference fixed, Talbot confirmed straight deletion — no separate archival needed.
  • /investment-analysis-historical renamed to /financial-dashboard. The skill already took any asset class as a parameter — not precious-metals-specific — so “generic” was never the gap; the name was just narrower than the scope. Recommendation given (and accepted): don’t build a second, parallel “generic HTML artifact” skill — the harness’s own Artifact tool (backed by artifact-design/frontend-design/design-context) already covers arbitrary one-off HTML pages, with better sharing (a hosted link vs. a local file needing manual FTP). Renamed via git mv in the ai-config SSOT (commit c23a518), deployed, and verified live on all 4 surfaces: WSL Claude Code, Windows Claude Code, AntiGravity global, monorepo workspace. Updated every reference: deploy.sh, README.md, skills-dashboard/SKILL.md, Core/AI/Skills/DASHBOARD.md, Core/IT/Utils/Custom/DASHBOARD.md, ai-config-design-ssot.md.
  • ~/artifacts/README.md written — folder purpose, the real reviewer-transfer mechanism (web-deploy artifacts online → talbotstevens.com/artifacts, opt-out via private/), and the DASHBOARD registration convention.

deploy.sh’s USER_SKILLS rsync is scoped per named directory — renaming a skill in the array does not delete the old-name directory on any deploy target. Confirmed 4 stale copies left behind after the rename (WSL ~/.claude/skills/, Windows ~/.claude/skills/, AntiGravity global, monorepo .agent/skills/) until found by find and archived by hand to /tmp/claude-1000/skill-rename-archive/. Any future skill rename needs the same manual sweep — not proposed as a lesson for promotion this round (declined), but worth remembering if it recurs.

Core/_WorkingOn/Tasks/Standalone-HTML-Artifact-Skill.md (2026-05-26, unstarted) proposes a similarly-named “generic standalone HTML artifact” skill — but scoped to Astro-embedded brand pages (mission/status/investor-brief pages deployed into the monorepo), a different animal from financial-dashboard or a one-off Artifact-tool page. Surfaced during this task’s dup-check; left as its own separate thread, not folded in here.

Core/Processes/Projects/KB-OS/LESSONS.md: a qmd search dup-check on a narrow exact phrase can miss the same idea under different wording (BM25 keyword scoring, not concept matching) — try 2+ phrasings plus a filename grep across Tasks folders before concluding nothing prior exists.
