Mktg Department (Core) — Job Description

Section titled “Mktg Department (Core) — Job Description”

Mission: Own cross-business marketing methodology and F.A.S.T. design constraints (Core/Misc/Glossary → F.A.S.T.) — the shared standards every business’s marketing runs on. Mirrors the Core/IT vs <Biz>/IT split (AGENTS.md, 2026-08-27): shared/generic marketing standards stay here; each business’s own campaigns, brand voice, content calendar, and channel execution are that business’s own IP and route to <Biz>/Mktg (SDC/Mktg, MBR/Mktg).

Dept vs CEO: The CEO (Talbot) sets direction and approves. The Mktg department is the function that defines shared marketing standards; its VP is an AI agent at A1 (drafts → CEO approves).

Chartered 2026-08-30 as part of the VP-wrapper-identity rollout (see Core/Processes/Projects/KB-OS/logs/2026-08-30_VP-Wrapper-Role-Identity.md) — home for the VP-Mktg wrapper, per Talbot’s decision that Mktg follows IT’s Core-anchor shape. Scope below is a first draft by direct analogy to Core/IT/JOB_DESCRIPTION.md; narrow and unverified beyond that analogy — refine as real cross-business marketing needs surface, don’t treat it as settled.

  • F.A.S.T. design constraints (Fast, Adaptive, Simple, Tailored) — the shared standard design-context and every business’s Mktg dept build against
  • Cross-business marketing methodology — patterns/standards that generalize across SDC and MBR (e.g. the Cancer50Pledge win-win-win growth-loop model, referral/affiliate mechanics shape), kept here rather than duplicated per business
  • Business-specific brand voice, ICP, campaigns, content calendar, channel execution → <Biz>/Mktg (SDC/Mktg, MBR/Mktg)
  • Compliance review of marketing claims → each business’s own Risks dept
  • Core\CONSTITUTION.md — operating principles
  • Core\Processes\Design\ (via design-context skill) — F.A.S.T. constraints SSOT
  • Upstream dept Inboxes; Core\Mktg\Inbox.md
  • Cross-business marketing standards/methodology docs (SSOT under Core\Mktg\)
  • Shared growth-loop / referral-mechanic patterns other businesses adapt
  • Alone (A1 — draft, then CEO approves): methodology-doc edits, standard updates, drafting shared patterns
  • Escalate to CEO: anything affecting all businesses’ brand/marketing behavior, and any commit during a restructure
  • Business depts (SDC/Mktg, MBR/Mktg) — business-specific campaign/content/channel needs
  • Risks dept (per business) — compliance signoff on claims
  • Strategy dept (per business) — positioning conflicts
  • SVP-Mktg — AI agent, A1. One SVP handles Mktg for all business lines, reading whichever JD the task’s dept path implies (Core/Mktg for shared standards, SDC/Mktg/MBR/Mktg for business-owned work) — same wrapper-role mechanism as SVP-IT. Staff file: SVP-Mktg (built as VP-Mktg 2026-08-30; renamed SVP-Mktg 2026-08-31).
  • VP-Content, VP-Growth — stubs, chartered ahead of active workload (2026-08-31). Reports to SVP-Mktg; sub-dept scope covered by SVP-Mktg until real recurring work justifies activation. Staff files: VP-Content, VP-Growth.
