Focus — Ledger

One row per closed task, appended automatically by /task-complete (Step 7c). Append-only — never rewrite past rows, and never edit a row to look better in hindsight; the point is an honest record.

Not a retrospective. No row carries a judgement of whether the task was worth doing — self-reported impact at close has no decision moment attached and, per Behavioural-Solutions, measures ≈0. The value here is cumulative: after ~10 rows the off-rock share and the round counts are real data. Read at the monthly Rocks + focus-ledger review routine (Routines), not per task.

Decision rule (Talbot, 2026-08-20): if more than 50% of closed tasks are off after 10 rows, address why — and the first hypothesis is that the Rocks are wrong, not that discipline failed. Written down before the data exists, so it is a rule rather than a rationalisation.

Columns

• Rock — the task frontmatter’s rock: value, written by /task-start’s rock-alignment gate: a number = it laddered to that Biggest Rock; off = Talbot chose “proceed anyway” at the forced choice; — = gate skipped (recurring maintenance) or task predates the gate (2026-08-19).
• Category — the task frontmatter’s category: value, written by /task-start’s category-balance gate (added 2026-09-22): Strategy / Development / Marketing / Other. Feeds the rolling-10 out-of-category check in the same gate — no per-task judgment, an aggregate signal only. — = task predates the gate.
• Rounds — number of ## Claude Response sections in the task file at close. The /task-continue creep gate fires at every round from 4 onward, so a row at 8 rounds means the forced choice was answered “continue” five times.
• Disposition — A log · B delete · C archive, from /task-complete Step 6.
