Surfaced by Talbot, round 6 of SDC/IT/Tasks/sdc-sdapp-full-levpro-port.md. Talbot wants to delegate a task to one senior expert (VP) per dept, regardless of which business line it touches — solopreneur org structure now, the seat an AI agent occupies, and the seat a human could later join alongside/instead of.

  1. One VP per dept, all business lines. Naming: VP-<Dept> (e.g. VP-IT) — sidesteps pronoun-guessing, self-documents in logs/dashboards, matches “role delegated to,” not a personality.
  2. Mechanism: wrapper-role, not rename-in-place. One VP-<Dept>.md Staff file per dept that resolves which JD to read (Core/<Dept> shared/generic, or <Biz>/<Dept> business-owned) from the task’s own folder path — autonomy and decision authority stay per-JD, only the addressed identity unifies. Per-business JDs remain the scope/autonomy SSOT.
  3. Scope: every top-level dept, phased. Phase 1 (built this task): VP-IT, VP-Processes, VP-AI, VP-Mktg. Phase 2 (deferred, build on /dept-init activation): VP-Offerings, VP-Risks, VP-Accounting, VP-Cancer50. Strategy excluded — stays directly CEO-owned.
  4. VP-Mktg’s home is Core/Mktg (new dept, chartered this task) — mirrors Core/IT’s shared-vs-business-owned split; SDC/Mktg/MBR/Mktg stay business-owned IP. No FSS/Mktg exists.
  5. Accounting → Acct rename: declined. Talbot agreed the shortening was consistent with Mktg, but the git mv on the whole Core/Accounting/ folder was blocked by the Claude Code permission classifier — a subsequent unrelated read-only ls was blocked too (in the same turn), while pwd worked, confirming the block was command/path scoped, not a global Bash outage. Per AGENTS.md’s “a classifier block often flags real risk — don’t route around it,” stopped rather than retrying via another tool; any Templater dept-detection edit prepped for the rename was reverted to avoid a half-renamed state. Talbot’s call: skip — not worth the blast radius on an actively-used financial-data dept (QBO reconciliation, HST filing, hst-assistance/process-expenses skills).
  • Core/IT/Staff/IT-Director.md → VP-IT.md (wrapper, reads Core/IT/SDC/IT/MBR/IT per task path). SDC/IT + MBR/IT JD Staff stubs point at it.
  • Core/Processes/Staff/Processes-Director.md → VP-Processes.md, Core/AI/Staff/AI-Director.md → VP-AI.md — simple renames (Core-only depts, no cross-JD switching). Core/AI/Tools/JOB_DESCRIPTION.md’s 3 AI-Director reporting-line references updated too.
  • New Core/Mktg dept chartered (JOB_DESCRIPTION.md, Inbox.md, Tasks/, Logs/) + Core/Mktg/Staff/VP-Mktg.md wrapper. SDC/Mktg + MBR/Mktg JD Staff stubs point at it.
  • Registered everywhere read: Agent-Team.md roster (AI/Processes/IT/Mktg rows + SDC/MBR IT/Mktg rows flipped to Active; Accounting row added — was missing from the roster entirely, pre-existing gap, unrelated to the rename decision), ai-config/AGENTS.md’s Core dept→charter map (commits 80fc742, 8cb4b3e, both deployed and verified live in ~/.claude/CLAUDE.md), Templater SMTM Task — Smart.md’s dept auto-detect regex + fallback picker (new Mktg line added so Core/Mktg/Tasks/ notes auto-detect correctly).
  • Vault-wide grep swept for stale IT-Director/AI-Director/Processes-Director references — only intentional historical mentions remain.
  • KB vault: 3500f1b, 1019c5c, 843a7e1 (this task)
  • ~/ai-config: 80fc742, 8cb4b3e (deployed each time)

None pushed.
